How it all began

OUR LOVE STORY

Aubrey Giffith-Zill, raised in Hillsborough, NC, has been dancing and inspiring artistic expression to people (and animals) across the globe since she was young. Along with a love of nature, a dedication to what is sacred and care for all beings, Aubrey opened a central hub for movement therapy, art creation and community engagement called the Living Arts Collective (LAC) in Durham, NC.

Bruce Rozeboom, raised in Grandville, MI, has been exploring individual creativity through a variety of mediums and expressions for many years. Bruce’s three children, (Hannah, Trevor and Maebelle), are a vibrant part of his life and will be a vital part of the wedding ceremony.

In the early part of 2016, a friend invited Bruce to attend a Living Arts Dancewave, an experience hosted by Aubrey as part of the LAC. Aubrey and Bruce noticed one another right away. Over the next few months they slowly took their time sharing space at a variety of events within the local arts community.

On July 19, 2016, Aubrey invited Bruce to attend an event at the land of the Shakori people where the Grassroots Festival takes place in Pittsboro, NC. Under the light of the full moon, he knew it was time to tell her of his affection and attraction towards her. She expressed her shared feelings and as she did so, a cat magically appeared, keeping them company as they spent their first night together, in a hammock, under the stars and in one anothers embrace.
